Chasing Amy
This blog entry is going to stray from my usual topics of weddings and events. This entry is about a most-intriguing email I received yesterday. When I saw “Train Concert?” in my inbox, I was mildly irked that I was getting spammed. But the email preview was random and specific enough that I decided to read the full email. It was not spam.
It was, in fact, a thoughtful missed connection email from a man who met me at a concert at the Independent, thought I was pretty cool and goofy (I am), but missed the chance to get my contact info. Seems like I’ve been on his mind recently.
The problem is that I’m not the right person.
My name is Amy and I am an event planner in San Francisco. Thus, the confusion. But he is definitely looking for someone else — I am not a photographer, I am not traveling to San Diego/Morocco, and I definitely was not at that concert.
Could you possibly be the right Amy? Are you an event planner and photographer in San Francisco?
I don’t know much about John, except that I think he’s probably a nice guy. I do sense a love story in the making. Help me help him find AMY!
P.S. I kind of want to make a joke about “If U Seek Amy” but I figure that’s a little 2009. So instead I went with an even more retro reference to a 1997 movie.
P.P.S. If this fellow turns out to be totally creepy, I apologize to Amy in advance. However, from the few emails we’ve exchanged, I am pretty sure this is not the case — and I do excel at snap judgments!
